Travelers

What travelers ask us.

What is LateKey?

A curated, same-day booking marketplace for business travelers. Think last-minute hotel apps, but for high-quality, professionally managed apartments and aparthotels. You can book for tonight or any night up to 7 days out.

Who can book?

Only verified business travelers. Everyone passes a government ID and selfie check and is approved manually by our team before their first booking.

How does verification work, and what does it cost?

You upload a government-issued ID and take a quick selfie, then our team reviews and approves your account. There's a one-time $10 verification fee. Once you're approved, you can book instantly.

How far in advance can I book?

From tonight up to 7 days out. We're built for last-minute and short-notice business trips.

Can I cancel a booking?

No. All bookings are non-refundable. That's what lets hosts confirm same-day stays instantly, so please double-check your dates before you book.

What's included in every stay?

Every listing comes with the essentials for business travel: fast WiFi, a dedicated workspace, self check-in, a kitchen, a washer and air conditioning.

What are the fees?

Travelers pay a 12% service fee per booking and a one-time $10 identity verification fee. Hosting is free during our launch, with no listing fee and no host commission. See all fees.

What kind of places are listed?

High-quality, professionally managed apartments and aparthotels. Every listing must include fast WiFi, a dedicated workspace, self check-in, a kitchen, a washer and air conditioning.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes. A damage deposit hold is placed on your card for each stay. It's a hold, not a charge.

Is this compliant with NYC Local Law 18?

Yes, that's a requirement for every listing. New York City's Local Law 18 restricts stays of under 30 nights in most private homes unless the host is registered with the city. We only list properties that can legally take the stay being booked: licensed hotels and hotel-exempt operators (including aparthotels), and short-term rentals that are legally registered with the city. We don't list 30+ night corporate housing.

Every host signs a direct agreement with us, and we review a property's legal status before it goes live.

Where are you available?

We're launching in New York City. Miami, Chicago, Boston, Washington, DC and Austin are coming soon.

Is there an app?

Our iOS app is coming soon to the App Store. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when it's live.

Hosts

What hosts ask us.

Operators can find more on our host page.

What does it cost to list?

Nothing. LateKey is free for hosts during our launch: no listing fee and no host commission. See all fees.

Who sets the rates and availability?

You do. You decide your nightly rates and which nights and units you make available.

Who will be staying in my units?

Only verified business travelers. Every guest passes a government ID and selfie check and is approved manually by our team before they can book.

What happens if a guest cancels?

Bookings on LateKey are non-refundable for travelers.

How are my units protected?

Beyond guest verification, a damage deposit hold is placed on the traveler's card for every stay.

Do you work with 30+ night corporate housing?

No. LateKey is built for same-day and short-notice stays of a night or a few, so it's a fit for aparthotels, all-suite and extended-stay hotels, serviced apartments and professionally run apartment-hotels, plus independent hosts who deliver hotel-quality stays and can legally take short stays.

How do agreements work?

Every host signs a direct agreement with us that covers how listings, bookings and payouts work.

Which cities are you taking hosts in?

We're onboarding New York City hosts first. Miami, Chicago, Boston, Washington, DC and Austin are coming soon, and you can register interest for any of them now.
